Help to convert Word doc with pics into a HTML file, how to? PLEASE! |
|
I've got many yahoo pics I dragged into Word along with copying the yahoo link and text. Using Word to Save As html creates two files one with the html and the other folder with the images. Dreamweaver seems not to import all required to publish html with the pics. I know how to do this whole process without pics. Word saved the pics as "Picture Clippings" so I can't just drag them into DW. It's a real pain and I don't have time to go back and reget the pics from yahoo.
Thanks a bunch!

Click Save As:
File type - drop down menu should have Web Page available.
EDIT: Maybe that will work for the pics, maybe it won't. Good luck!

That works, if you can. You say you have a mac, if you are running OS X, you can save the file as a PDF.
Using word to make a page and then wanting it to be a good web page is not a good idea usually, at one time they had the coding set up so that the page would appear white if viewed with Netscape navigator. If you are using dreamweaver, just start from scratch, make a folder with your picture files and go from there.
I use golive for my pages.

7. You're an angel tsakshaug! I never thought about PDF |
|
and I've never really converted anything to PDF. It worked too. A very large Word doc is now a 13M PDF. Now I'll see if I can convert the PDF to a html file.
I've never tried this. Can I upload a PDF to Tripod and just give the link at darkerxdarker.tripod.com? That would be great to get this published fast! Let America see the truth the Media Whores are not publishing!

8. Acrobat is much better but it also makes a html file and a separate folder |
|
with the images but at least the images have been convertd to jpg so those can at least be brought into DW easily.
Next I'll see if DW can import a PDF.

You would not believe what Word does to HTML files.
Learn how to do HTML code. It's not that bad.
