...or whatever they call that new variety with fewer carbs. Sort of trying to cut down on my in take of aspartame. Well, then I read the label, to find it has both sugar and aspartame. (I honestly thought they used a different artificial sweetener.) So I got all the benefits of refined carbohydrates and neurotoxins! I'm gonna die! Woo-hoo!

Try drinking flavored seltzer water. The ones without nutrasweet. No calories and they satisfy my need for something bubbly.

She really beleived it would be a less-sweet version of Coke. Bzzzt! Wrong!
To me, it tasted like a flat store-brand knockoff.

I only drink real Dr. Pepper, once a day. My theory is, if you want less sugar, or caffeine, or anything, just eat/drink a bit less that you used to. It's easy, it's cheap, and it's guaranteed to work. Screw the "less carbs/calories through chemistry" crap, just eat less.

20. There is nothing wrong with aspartame unless it triggers migraines... |
|
Edited on Mon Sep-20-04 11:07 AM by liberal_veteran
....like it does for me.
I have tried various aspartame products from sugar-free gum to soda and each time I end up with a migraine.
That doesn't necessarily mean it's poison, but I can't tolerate it.
Chocolate is also one of my triggers and while it's perfectly safe for most, I avoid it like the plague.

Nutrasweet causes severe migraines. It's even happened "blind" before. I drank some soda my wife bought back when we first got together. Had one sip, a few minutes later the migraine started. Turned out it was diet coke.

Not sure if everything in this document is 100% accurate but food for thought (so to speak): http://www.laleva.cc/food/aspartame_scd.htmlThe taste of C2 really doesn't seem worth the risk to me.

both use Splenda. That is an option if you don't want to use Aspartame. Personally, I don't get this Coke 2 thing. They already have diet Coke which has no carbs. Just another gimmick imo.

Because they ended up finding out that the cancer-saccharin link was completely false. Go figure.

16. Chalk this up to "government is the problem", or more accurately |
|
bush*s government is the problem.
Things I can't/won't do/use because of direct actions by bush* admin (short list)
No Beef - b*a won't allow all cows to be tested - even at pennies a pound additional cost
No Dr Pepper - Bought by The Carlyle Group - buy it = funding terraists
No Aspartame - Rummy pulls strings to get this chemical onto the market ahead of complete testing (It may prove to be ok, but that would be suspect because of the prior cheating)

Damn. That means these are too:
7 UP, Schweppes, Canada Dry, Sunkist, Crush, Squirt, Welch's, Hires, A&W, Vernors, Hawaiian Punch, and RC Cola.

The rest I can easily do without. But - *sob* - not my Vernors!

26. We all die. It's a matter of where, when, how, and by whom. Sometimes |
|
'why' is also a factor, but I digress.
I recently started cutting back big-time on aspertame. Withdrawl is starting to kick in. :-(
Avoid all those drinks altogether. Drink milk or water only, it's the only way to avoid sugar-loaded drinks (fruit juice is horrible).
