What movie could BENEFIT from a sequel?
I haven't seen "Before Sunset" yet but have been told it's as crucial to the first movie as the right bookend is to the left.

And, having just quoted Lloyd Dobler elsewhere here in DU, I was just thinking how much I would love to see a thirty-something Lloyd and his out-of-his-league-brainy-beauty girlfriend (I guess a cynic could say that "Gross Pointe Blank" is practically that).

I've also always thought there's a great follow-up to Bull Durham, the three principals meeting up again as Nuke LaRouche is on his way out of the game via the minors.

What suggestions do you have?

1. How about...
"President William Jefferson Clinton: Eight Years of American Peace and Prosperity"

We could really use a happy sequel to that.

4. Divine Secrets of the YaYa Sisterhood.
Now hear me out. There is so much back story that should be told about Vivi as a child and all the weird, screwed up lives of the siblings of Sidalee. Little Alters Everywhere, the book, was fabulous. They really need to go back and tell the rest of the story.

5. Anchorman
I loved that movie, and I'm still perplexed at to how anyone was able to watch it and not laugh their ass off.

Maybe the sequel could be set in the present and go the "Austin Powers" route, and have Ron Burgundy not having changed at all in 30 years, but still managing to stay on TV. Hilarity ensues!

6. Casablanca.
At the last moment, Rick turns to Ilsa and says 'Fuck it. Let's shag'.

7. Apparently a remake of Casablanca was being considered for a while
starring Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez. On SNL, Tina Fey said "This is perfect for people who like the original movie but wish it was horrible."

8. Don't forget the TV series with David Soul
That's right. "Hutch" played the role of Rick. I think the series lasted about thirty-seven minutes -- it may have been cancelled during a commercial break.
