Colin is abusive and he defines a whiner. First he said all the rest of the teams sucked at playing the game, but when Chip and Kim started playing the game, he couldn't get over it. Congratulations to Chip and Kim-- they deserved it!

28. Thank God Chip and Kim won |
|
But I was just about ready to vomit when Colin tried to upstage them by proposing on the Early Show. That poor pathetic Christie actually said yes.

he has a well of anger in him that is ready to explode. He was fucking scary. Although Chip and Kim were my favorite, I would have been thrilled with anyone as long as it wasn't Colin and CHristie.

|
She probably doesn't know any better, poor thing. :eyes:
But kudos to Chip and Kim. After the Bowling Moms they were my favorites. Is Kim the first female to win the Amazing Race? I think she might be.
I love this show!!!

I hadn't caught this show except in snippets before tonight, but the two runner-up couples seemed HORRID!
Were they always like that? yuck.

|
they always talked about Jesus. They would constantly pray. Although it may have appeared to be annoying it was actually kind of endearing. They were really nice to each other. And they really did believe. (I'm an atheist, btw).

13. Maybe g-d got annoyed at their pleas to influence a reality show... |
|
...for them and delayed their flight?
See how easy invoking the infinite to your side is?
(I'm a UU myself, which in the opinion of most mainstream Christians - might as well be atheist.)
I did wonder if the two couples were portrayed better earlier in the game.
I know how these things can be editted to make the majority of the audience be rooting for the "ultimate winner."
The editing tonight made the runner-up couples look awful.

Nicole and BRandon (the born agains) weren't so bad. But they weren't really different from tonight.

27. I agree it was endearing. |

(I'm also an atheist). They seemed genuine and were kindhearted, though a little self-centered to think that God was going to take time out to make sure they won the race. I thought from the beginning they didn't have a good chance because putting the outcome in God's hands gives you a good excuse to be lazy. It was funny when Nicole told Brandon to pray to himself. I'm not sure they are born-agains, they never seemed to be trying to preach to others.
I'm so glad I'm not the only one who was rooting against Colin and Christie! They both have anger issues, but especially Colin. I really hope they do not have children together. They managed to get to second place purely on their physicality - they were so emotionally unstable. Hopefully, they watched the show and maybe now they will seek help.
I Tivoed the show and just got a chance to watch it this morning.. sorry I'm late to the discussion.

There's no "voting off" or immunities. It's a treasure hunt sort of thing. Teams follow clues and perform tasks (major ones like cliff climbing and walking a girder under the Auckland Harbour Bridge)on a journey around the world.
It's interesting - some of the teams are bizarre but that's life, ya know - and the concept is one hell of a lot more intelligent than the Survivor and Fear Factor type of shows.
That being said, yeah, it's a reality show.

I'm taping it since I have to work.
I wanted anybody but Colin and his slave to win. I hate those two. Colin will end up in prison one day when he murders his partner for disobeying him.

When people say that only bad people can win reality shows, we can point to Chip and Kim, the most decent people I've ever seen.
I've been pulling for them from Day One, and I was ecstatic that they won.
I actually had to pace just about the entire episode. I was so sure they had lost until they pulled that maneuver off with the airplanes.

22. Chip certainly deserved to win, but Kim? |
|
As far as I could see, she didn't do jack shit.
And furthermore, it was quite apparent that Jesus could not have cared less about handing Brandon and Nicole a win.

|
It's not all about the challenges. Chip would have been out early without Kim.
She was the brains of the outfit. Chip was the brawn. Perfect team that was the only one I can recall that never had an argument (other than the early boots that didn't have time to stress out).

then having a meltdown on the slopes of Sunshine Village. I think Brandon piggybacked her for the entire rest of the race after that.

No offense to the faithful here...but Jesus surely picked and chose His time to inspire this couple, no?
