Help, please, re: Animated GIFs

How do I save an animated gif to desktop on a Mac? Is there also a trick to uploading them, like, if I want to use one in a post or sig line?And how do I make one myself? Does it require some kind of program?

I have googled for this information but haven't found anything helpful. Any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks!

1. control click it... save it like any other GIF

3. In order to view the full animation

you have to see it through your web browser. Try opening it through IE, or Safari, or whatever you use.

Yes I think you need a special program to make them but I don't know what it is. I'd like to learn myself!

4. Microsoft gif animator

Use microsoft gif animator to make them. Just do a google search and you can find a free copy anywhere. Here are a few I made. WARNING: These aren't exactly kid friendly. although there is no pornographic content, some of the things will ruffle some feathers.

5. Open it in Preview...

Click "Customize Toolbar" from the View menu. Drag the Play button to the toolbar and click Done. Then click Play.

9. Some software for making Animated GIFs..

And they should act like normal GIFs. Preview might show the individual frames if you try to view them with that (in the drawer that opens on the right). Use your browser instead.
