Ripped! Someone on DU said they were going to put their's on the roof!
Another suggestion by a DUer is "Habanero juice"..hottest pepper!
Poison Ivy! We need to fight fire with fire!
I live in an apartment so I'm not putting any signs up but I do have my bumpersticker and pin on.
If I lived in a house I would per duers suggestions do one or all of the above!
Good Luck with your next sign!

Put up five more signs...and I sure like the Poison Ivy idea...if I had a yard I would do that. Habanero juice would be cool, too...
Better than poison Ivy, though?? Poision SUMAC!!! Believe it or not Sumac is far easier to get...and far harder to relieve...and itches a fuck of a lot worse than Ivy. I know, I live in Texas, and we have all three, Ivy, Oak, and Sumac here. And of the three, fuckin' Sumac is by far the worst!! I know, in my time I have gotten all three.

If I had a dollar for every Bush/Cheney sticker I had the opportunity to tear off a car, not only would I have a shitload of uncomfortable toilet paper, but I'd be able to benefit from the Bush tax cut. My point is, people (Republicans like that) should have a common courtesy to respect fellow humans political beliefs.

Set up a circle of stakes around and a few feet away from the sign. Link them with a long section of twine to act as a trip wire, and hang bells, wind chimes, cans, pieces of metal, etc. along the twine.
When they go after the signs, they'll trip on the twine and make a lot of noise. Maybe it will scare them off. Maybe they'll trip and fall flat on their ugly little faces.
If you want to spend a little money, get a motion-sensing floodlight and rig that up so the light will come on when they enter the yard.
Might as well have some fun with the jerks.

52. I know you're scared but you really shouldn't give in to |
|
intimidation. Did you report the threats to the police? If they were e-mail, they can be traced.
Check the front of the phone book for what to do about threatening calls. Here *57 activates a trace. This will work if there is no caller id info. *57 will trace the call and I think it tells you to call another number to speak to a phone co rep. They will not relase the number to you, but if you make a police report they will release it to the cops. (There is a charge for using *57)
Each time someone makes a threat like this and it goes unpunished, the person just gets bolder and more anti-social. If someone threatens harm to you or your property, they can be charged with menacing at least.

38. hehe.... it just reminds me of what I did last Friday. |
|
I had friends over and we were looking for way to amuse ourselves. I have a German mountain hat, a bow and arrows, and a blanket that resembles a cape. So I dressed up like Robin hood, ran across the street to the local Republican's house, screaming. Then I took their Bush/Cheney sticker off of their car (They had two more on the same car) and went running down the streets screaming "I TAKE FROM THE RICH AND GIVE TO THE POOR!!!!!!!" Then I put it in someone's garbage can and came back screaming.
They never figured out who it was, nor do I think they cared.
Yes, I am very odd. :D

>>I don't trust the brownshirts that live up the street. It's a rental house with several college age guys,<<
They sound familiar. The other night I had a carful of these assholes stare me down while we were stopped at a light because of my K/E sticker. They were practically hanging out the windows looking at me as if they wanted to kill me. It was intimidating, unnerving, and maddening as hell. I'm grateful that they turned off while I went through the intersection.
It was all I could do not to flip them off -- not smart, I know. We'll just have to check back with these clowns should Bush get re-elected -- just may want to give them a going-away party the night before they leave for Iraq, or Iran, or North Korea, or...

I am also afraid to put a sticker on my truck, as people here (Houston) have had their vehicles' windows broken and paint "keyed" by the KKKompassionate KKKonservatives who cannot tolerate ANY disagreement with their narrow-minded zealotry. I know I'm a wuss, but I simply cannot afford to repair any damages possibly incurred by these a-holes.
