I'm announcing a moratorium...
on commercials using "Walking on Sunshine!!!!!"

Is anyone else ready to explode every time they hear this over played, overused piece of drivel??!!

Every new product, every new movie that is released, no matter what it is, uses this damned song! Today it was a commercial for windows!

Gaaaahhhh! Make it stop!

3. For me, it's "Your Cheating Heart,"
usually to ascribe some sort of lack of fidelity to the product in question to the actor in the commercial.

As far as I care, if someone who really loves Coke feels guilty for drinking that half-carb Pepsi, he's got bigger problems...

7. The WORST were the friggin toy commercials....
Were they toy commercials? I'm trying to block them out.
With that breathy cutesy folksy singer, and the awkward cutesy "Hey!"...

8. I actually had a promo
of the album when it first came out, and in the 80s, I was into much lighter stuff than I am now.

I really liked their version of "Going Down to Liverpool" but leave it to modern culture to make us hate something we'd previously liked.

Good to know I'm not the only one!

9. It's Philip J. Fry's Theme Song in Futurama
They even played it on Fry's funeral scene in the episode "The Sting"...

On bagpipes.

Since then I've always thought of "Walking on Sunshine" as the Loser's Anthem. By extension, any product advertised using this song I immediately connect with the word LOSER! So let them keep using the song to peddle loser-ware.

10. I woujld like Led Zeppelin to take back 'Rock n Roll' from Cadillac.
Them taking that song was such a bite.

And Pepsi needs to give back Born to be Wild, and Chevy needs to cough up Magic Carpet Ride.

It's blasphemy
