Need geek help....alternate to Adobe Reader?
Hi, I need to download a National Voter Registration Form that was sent to me in pdf. (We are registering unmarried females this weekend in my small town.) Not having an adobe reader, I downloaded one from download.com. But, can't set it up as I have Windows 98, Netscape 7.1. Given my system info, is there an alternate reader which will work on my system, OR is there a National Voter Registration Form online somewhere where I can just print it, and make copies of it on my copier? Thanks for any help!

2. that is strange
Adobe Reader should work on almost(practically all) any Windows system. IS there an error message or something?

3. I'm assuming you mean you cant use the IE Plug-in

not the reader itself.

That would prevent you from clicking on the document and having it open in the browser.

If the link to the document is a direct file reference (with a /pdf extension) you should be able to right-click (or the Netscape equivalent) on the link and Save it to the disk and then open it directly with the Reader with Double-Click (assuming Acrobat has registered itself).

Added:

You might do a Google search on "Acrobat Reader Netscape" or similar to get references to information on using crobat Reader with the Netscape browser.

4. Ok, the problem seems to be....
That I have Win98, original edition. I will have to download Adobe reader version 4.0.5, which is the only one that seems to work with Win98. Hope it works with the Netscape 7.1. Will be back to ask more questions if this doesn't work....thanks, you guys.

P.S. Is there anywhere online to just print out the National Voter Registration Form????

5. You don't need it to "work with Netscape" - just download the file and
open it in Adobe Acrobat Reader. . .

In other words, save the file to disk and use Acrobat to open the file.

6. FWIW..........
I had Win98SE and Netscape 7.1 was my default browser and I didn't have any problems running any .pdf files with Acrobat (read-only version).
