DUers Time to TAKE ACTION: National Women’s Election Action Day 09/18/04

Across the country there is a major event going on this Saturday to help get out the vote, focusing mainly on the swing states but definitely activities in EVERY STATE.

For almost four years now, we DUers have "Talked the Talk", now is the time to "Walk the Walk" - get out there and join millions of people across the country this weekend to help get out the vote!!!

If you can make it to a swing state, then click on one of the dark blue states on the map and find a location and help get out the vote. Can't travel, then click on your home state, just because your state isn't a swing state doesn't mean that there isn't something going on this weekend.

I know in Philadelphia they are having a kick-off party at 10am, canvassing from noon-4pm and then an after-party around 5:30pm. I'm sure that great things are planned at a location near you.

I'm encouraging everyone to sign up and I hope to see other Philadelphia area DUers at the Philly Event (Gloria Feldt and Gloria Steinem will be a part of the action here in Philly). Heck, if you want to come to the Philly event and you're out of town, you're welcome to crash at my place for the weekend!!! Need a ride from Wilmington to Philly - give me a PM (I'll even pick you up along the way into Philly if you're somewhere between Philly & Wilmington).

Don't let 2004 Election come to an end and realized all we did was sit around and talk about what we would do. If you're waiting for the right moment to get out there and start to Canvas, then today is your lucky day. This event is a coalition of some of the best progressive organizations out there. The list is phenomenal!!!

1. are you in delaware?

I'm from Delaware orginally, but live in West Grove now. I can also give rides -in my luxurious mini-van :). Where in Philadelphia is the kick off party? I am seeing way too many Bush/Cheney shrines in my neighborhood and am very uncomfortable.

Also, I was thinking I would like to hit up Lincoln University (right near my home), but would love some help. Let me know.
