The Joe Schmoe Show
Has anyone seen this on Spike TV?

I must admit, I have watched it.....and I got a kick out of it.

Realize that I am someone who HATES reality shows. I have never once seen a full episode of Survivor.

For those that do not know the premise of the show, here is a brief synopsis. The producers have created a false reality show. The get a average Joe Schmoe, some law school dropout from Pittsburgh who still lives with Mom and Dad, and tell him he is a contestant of this fake show called, "Lap of Luxury." What he doesn't realize is that the other "contestants" are actually actors playing the part of the typical reality show contestant. There is a jerk, a nerd, a bitch, etc. All of these actors have story lines and are playing rigged games to play this guy along.

This silly show is different however, perhaps because it is a bunch of unknown actors TRYING to make things cheesy and "over the top". The first "eviction" ceremony was hysterical, very contrived.

I will go on record however, that I think it is a distinct possibility that the real joke is on the viewer. What I mean is, I think it is a possibility that the guy does know whats going on, the actors don't, and only one or two producers know the real truth. In that case, Schmoe is playing the actors who think they are playing him. That would be an interesting twist at the end of the show, but maybe I had a few too many pints while I watched it.

Anyone have any thoughts on this goofiness?

1. I like it too...
I hate reality shows too.

Skipped survivor, big brother, and all the rest. No interest.

I liked the Millionaire/Game Show craze.. Did a tryout for Weakest Link..

2. The Host
John Henson plays the The Host, who has a different name...
John Henson hosted Talk Soup for a while, so he's not altogether unknown, so I wonder why they use a different name. The casting would HAVE to be such that this one guy would never have been exposed to E! While I am sure that is possible, I think curiosity would get the better of me personally as I constantly tan it through my mind "hey, I've seen this guy before."

I think there is something else going on... especially after the episode that included Touch the Hooker.

3. Thank you!
That is the point I thought something was up......right when Schmoe took his hand off the hooker.
