How it went: The NYC DU Dinner Date |
|
We had the first DU Dinner Date last night.
It was me, LionnessPriyanka, Cassandra, Infomaniac, KurtNYC and Liontamer.
We didn't really talk about politics that much. Odd.
We exchanged family stories. Except for Kurt.
Kurt is that guy from back in High School who was really quiet but everyone liked him and thought he was kind of okay. Except he's older now and he's still quiet, likable and kind of okay. :hi:
We talked about cats, where we came from, work, and all kinds of odd stuff.
We had pretty good Chinese food at a place with unfriendly staff. Then we walked around mid-town and ended up at an Irish pub. (Where I drank Coors non-alcoholic beer. Come on people! Guiness makes a great non-alcoholic beer. It's an Irish Pub. Get some!)
We talked about getting together to watch debates. And we're definitely doing dinner again, but vegetarian restaurants were FIRMLY vetoed by the carnivores.
Don't you wish you were there?
Well, you'll just have to join us next month, won't you?

1. Does the Guinness non-alcoholic beer taste like Guinness? |

5. Actually, I wouldn't know. |
|
If I ever had real Guiness it was over 15 years ago. :(

Regular Guinness tastes dark, malty (but not at all sweet), thick and rich, with a cofee-flavored aftertaste. Is it anything like that?

It's darker and more malty than most of the others. It's rich but not harsh. It's not think though, and I don't taste any coffee aftertaste.

9. I'm just so dang busy! |

But currently Monday and Wednesday evenings are good for me, if we're sticking to weekdays.
