I'm running away from home! |
|
I'm gonna get me a hobo sack! I'm running away to ride the rails! I'll bring my trusty harmonica, a can of beans, and a bunch of hobo songs to sing!

8. Believe it or not, I seriously did run away from home once |
|
I was 8 years old and infuriated by one of my parent's disciplinary actions (So freaking mad that I don't even remember what it was!) I grabbed a sleeping bag, some clothes and food from the kitchen, tossed all my supplies into the sleeping bag and jumped out my bedroom window (2 stories up) and promptly landed in a blackberry bush....
Cold, in Pain and tired I immediately realized the stupidity of my decision (ever seen Anchorman, remember what Ron said when jumped into the bear pit...thats what I felt like!) But I couldn't go inside cause my dad was watching TV on the couch near the front door...Now I was in trouble. I decided to sleep it off in the backyard and awoke to find a police officer staring me in the face who asked "Excuse me, son, are you Colin Rennick?
My parents had not found my Run Away note (which was a carbon copy of the Declaration of Independence only when our founders listed their grievances against the king, I listed mine against them) and freaked out. On the bright side, I got the day off from school and it's something funny for us to laugh at. They tell me they still have the Declaration of Independence and intend to give it back once I get my own kids so I can see how retarded I truly was

Great idea for a Run Away note! I never ran away from home, but my brother did - he ran all the way across the street and set up his new "home" behind the neighbor's air conditioner! :silly:

11. Air Conditioners must be the unofficial home of run-aways! |
|
I was wedged in some tall grass between the air conditioner and our house!
