Poll question: Your favorite classic cop show |
|
The cop show has been the staple of TV since the genre took over from westerns back in the seventies. There have always been both good and bad shows- mostly bad ripoffs and derivative drivel. But a few really good, original ones have always stood out for me. These are WAY better than the endless LawnOrder series, the CSI series (although good, they could be MUCH better), the character-driven nonsense from the past thirty and more years (Baretta, Starsky and Hutch, and so on).
A short list of the cream of the crop for me (in no particular order)

But if I had 2 votes I'd vote for Homicide also.
BTW, I like Law and Order, especially Criminal Intent.

As an ex-cop, he knew the truth behind the cop life, and it came out in his books.

And not in a good/bad Roadhouse way! :spank:
(actually suffered the first 5 minutes of the pilot, and wondered how much cocaine was snorted at the creative conceptual meeting)

was my all time favorite cop show. Watching Frank Pembleton in the box was TV at its finest. And the ensemble cast put the show over the top, especially the early years.
