Surfing through the ol' TV during the commercail break while waiting for MXC to come back on and came across this gem on the Batshit Ass-backward Fundiebot Bible-Banger Network:
On today's show we have a formerly devout Muslim who through the power of Jeebus has seen the light. He will be giving us insights on the Muslim mind that you can use to bring the light to muslims at home and around the world".

1. This will go a LOOONG way towards improving peaceful relations between |

the faiths and communities.
They don't hate us for our freedoms. They're just sick of our stupidity.

discussing/distorting Indian mythology, reducing it from the rich, dense, at-times overly pedantic creation myth and religious doctrine that comprises it to something most of the regular knuckledragging shit-eating putrid-ejaculate-gargling viewers can comprehend. You just...really...want...to throttle the lot of them. How will these people feel when they've been reborn as some insect who will lead a very confusing but brief existence? Granted transmigration of the soul is just as wacky an idea as heaven or hell, but an eternity in hell for these hopeless ass violins just strikes me as being so...predictable? yeah, that's it.
Oh, and the children! and the empty, empty missionary work (the sole purpose of which is conversion and eventual homogenization). of course there's only the failures of the caste system to blame for this, but it still bothers the heck out of me. I don't approve of the anti-missionary violence that's been occasionally reported in Gujurat and other less developed parts of India. Of course it's barbaric. But I can see why the RSS exists and I guess I should find it a little disquieting that I do.

Indian nationalists, a little xenophobic, who recruit Hindu youths and 'immunize' them to western influence (ie, Coca-Cola-ization, other forms of 'cultural imperialism'). They are a radical branch of the BJP. Sort of the Indian analog of the Christian Coalition, with some obvious differences.
Edit: how silly of me not to enumerate these differences! well, for one thing, Hindu culture goes back a few thousand years ago, though admittedly over the past millenium you could say it's been Islamicized. this was not necessarily a bad thing. to paraphrase Woody Allen, a culture is like a shark...it has to keep moving or it dies.
another difference is that India is roughly 85% Hindu and the population is largely socially conservative--though, as evinced by the results of the parliamentary elections a few months back, not fiscally.
the last difference I'll add is that unlike the RSS, members of the Christian Coalition do not spend their mornings doing jumping jacks in khaki shorts. higher caste RSS youth might even be trained in martial arts or reading and interpretation of scripture.
so there you ahve it
