Would you write to this woman?
Would you want to write to this "good Christian woman?
(BTW, this is not a joke. It's real.)

"I am 31 years old. My birthday is September 26. I am looking to meet new people and, hopefully, become friends. During my spare time, I enjoy reading, working puzzles, and writing. I love rainbows, Mickey Mouse, the beach, the mountains, and waterfalls. My favorite color is navy blue and my favorite flower is the daisy. I am a Christian and I enjoy attending church. I consider myself to be sensitive, caring, and kind-hearted."

Sounds ok so far, right?

Let's continue though.

"I'm currently serving a life sentence on the charge of murder. I have grown and matured a lot since my incarceration, but I will always hurt for the pain I've caused so many, especially my children. I hope to receive letters from those who are not judgmental and who are sincere. I look forward to hearing from new people and, hopefully, finding new friends. May God bless each one of you!"

Who is this?

Susan Smith.
Yup.
Same woman who drowned her two little boys, and faked a carjacking.

"Please Write Me At:

Susan Smith #221487

Leath Corr. Inst.

2809 Airport Rd.

Greenwood SC 29649 USA"

This is from a web site to let people write to those in prisons around the country.

15. LOL!!!
That is too good.

But I'm not going to say anything else on this... well, she could have given up her kids for adoption...

Wasn't she the one who blamed the deaths of her kids on a black male as well?

She's a very horrible, vicious, and cruel person, and I don't buy the bit that she's now all caring and 'Christian' and all that.

that she enjoys the beach....
I doubt seriously if I'd be taking her there any time soon.....and that can be taken two ways.

8. My best friend from elementary school does it for a living.
Corresponds with death row inmates and other dregs of the prison system, then sell the letters online.

I guess it's better than law school, but it's interesting to think about how people grow up and become different. I go off to work at the VA, he's known as the "czar of murderabilia".

19. Yes.
You can make a fair amount of money doing it. I've never asked him the details, but appearently there's quite a market.

Of course, as bizarre as this seems, it's chump change to the amount of advertising revenue and royalties that change hands in the media for incessently putting these guys on the map. And if you've ever spent time at a big hospital, you'd know how reporters swirl around violent death like flies around someone in a hyperglycemic coma.

13. Darn. She was sounding really good
until I got to the 'murder' part.

Then again, maybe she was framed. Maybe she was pushed into it by circumstances beyond her control. maybe she killed a beast of a boyfriend who abused her regularly.

I'll fight for you, my darlingggggggggggggg...........

16. I remember the case
and immediately recognized the name. She really did do it, but sent police on a wild goose chase after a fictitious black man who she said kidnapped her children, if I recall correctly. It was as big as Lacey Peterson, at the time, and very sensational. I just cannot imagine.

14. Well, lots of evangelical Christians flock to prisons to find mates
Sounds silly, but over my life I've conversed with evangelicals - who tried dragging me to their churches and everything; and for some reason they tell me that they have a new beau or boyfriend or whatever; and it's the same story - "Oh, he/she's in prison right now..."

Maybe that's where I should turn to next! :D

Isn't it also interesting how people suddenly turn Christian while in jail?
