I think Naderites have forgotten why they are socialists |
|
i am a socialist because i believe that people have a right to certain basics especially in a wealthy society. I am compassionate and hate to see pain. Especially pain that could have been prevented if only we cared.
I think people who are going to vote for Nader knowing the amount of pain we are causing because of Bush to poor Americans, our troops and across the globe have just forgotten what it means to be a socialist.
They are sticking to ideal through stubborness and without being in touch with reality. Much like the republicans.
(i am upset now so if this post is incoherent let me know)

I know people who feed the homeless, join the peace corps, travel to Indonesia independently to feed the poor, and volunteer to help the sick. Many of these people consider themselves socialists. None of them are voting for Nader. The only person I know who is voting for Nader is a white male from Iowa, who steps over homeless people, mocks Jewish people ,and has no understanding of anybody else's viewpoints. It infuriates me.

2. A lot of real far left people don't mind a bloodbath. |
|
Makes no sense, but the idea some Naderites here had was to make things so bad that either people come running to their idea of a "progressive" candidate or the nation collapses and they can start over. They don't even know what they're asking for.

4. that has been given as the best way to begin a communist paradise |
|
Rather than make any attempts to raise quality of life within a capitalist society, some people think it's best to let the poor increase and suffer as much as possible, so that there will be a strong base for the revolution

7. That having been said... |
|
...it starts to look more like they want to seem vainly hard-line, and human rights or the prevention of suffering really isn't what they want. They just want to show off or seem heroic or something.

they somehow believe that a third party will be some magic, global panacea and don't care who has to suffer and die along the way.
