I just bought this groovy retro clock on Ebay (and a question for ebayers)
Edited on Thu Oct-07-04 09:01 PM by nu_duer
Its the first thing I've ever bid on there and I "won." (They call it won, I call it bought).

Ain't it cool?

btw, ebayers - how long should it take for an item to reach you? Its only been four days, but I'm starting to get a little nervous.

1. cool clock
and it depends on how you paid.

After the payment 'takes', no more than a week. The seller should email you with info.

2. Why not..
...contact the seller and ask them when it was sent and how. I sent all my stuff with tracking so you might actually be able to really track progress on it! Enjoy your clock!

11. doesn't say much for "modern" when "retro" is hot, eh?
Edited on Thu Oct-07-04 09:48 PM by nu_duer
I "came of age" in the late 70's - 80's (well, I'm not sure I've really "come of age" yet, lol), and I've become really fascinated with the styles of the 60s and 70s.

4. It depends on when it was sent, right?
If it was sent shortly after they received payment (assuming you used PayPal and paid right away), you should be getting it anyday. I wouldn't get nervous, but make sure to not leave feedback until you've received and inspected the item. It's always good practice to tell everyone that the item was received as described.

The clock looks nice.

P.S. I lived in Charleston, SC for about 8 years, and moved up to Indiana a little over a year ago. I miss it.
:hi:

I've never been to Indiana, but I can see how you'd miss Charleston.

I've lived here for years, and while I'm not crazy about the weather, or the politics, or a lot of things, Charleston has grown on me over the last few years. There was a time I couldn't wait to get out, and I still feel that way sometimes, but if I have to live in SC, Charelston is the place to be. (Unless I come into a lot of money, and can party in Myrtle daily, lol).

I'll give the clock a few more days, and won't leave feedback until I get the thing.

Thanks.

5. Cool
If they sent it UPS or FedEx, they should give you a tracking number.

7. First,
It depends on if you used a Credit Card (pay pal) or had to send a money order / check via snail mail. Sellers generally won't send out stuff till they get their money.

Look on the auction and see how it is agreed to send it. Sometimes you can work with sellers to send it overnight instead of ground.

You should just contact the seller and find out the status if they haven't contacted you yet.

13. No tracking #
but have sent an email

shipping was indicated as "Standard Flat Rate Shipping Service" - with no insurance available - which makes me think USPS.
thanks

8. Got a tracking number?
Get one. It will take exactly precisely the number of days UPS or Fedex says it will. Even if it shows the item in your town, if it isn't scheduled to be delivered for 3 more days, it won't be. If it's being mailed, depends on the distance. I've never had a bad deal on Ebay. Gotten a thing or two I didn't like, but never been outright cheated.

Very cool clock!! How much did you pay for it, if you don't mind my asking.

14. Bidding started at $7.00!
And was stuck at $30something for a while.

There was a very short-lived bidding "war" at the end, and I increased my max bid from $40 to $60, and won the thing @ $51. So I ended up paying $61 with shipping.

More than I intended to spend.

Thanks

22. That's not bad
That particular style is the one in demand, from what I've seen. It's sold for $150 and more. I think you did pretty good. I like vintage stuff, mostly 30's and 40's stuff though. Although my bedroom has more a 50's era look. I bought some barkcloth curtains on Ebay, I never could have gotten them otherwise. Hope your clock comes soon and is just what you wanted!

19. All shippers and shipping times are different. As long as it's a reputable
seller (they have great feedback, even better if they have LOTS of ebaying under their belt), you'll get yer thing. That particular item looks a bit tricky to pack, so you might just have a lazy bones.

How did you pay for it? Paypal?

You can lay it on the ground, glue a stick on the face and you'll have a pretty good sundial
