Friend from marines got back the other day
He gave me a few funny insider facts.

First off skittles are EXTREMELY popular with children! In some of the MREs (meals ready to eat they get packs of skittles. How ever the little kids are extremely selfish and grabby and in the beginning there were trucks that went by throwing candy out the window and so the kids started running up to ALL the vehicles expecting candy. He says the younger kids there are very selfish and grabby and like demand that they be given candy. So funny enough the marines trade the skittles to the older kids to keep the younger kids away. When ever little kids get near them they just yell "GIMME GIMME GIMME" and start grabbing stuff. Once they gave them a thing of crayons and the kids started drawing all over the cars...The prison system is pretty out of wack. He was stationed in a prison and said that sometimes a group of marines will come in with 40 prisoners but lost 2 of their men getting them. within a few weeks sometimes even days they are released and usually recaptured and re released. So in other words very little gets accomplished. The Army when in a convoy apparently when being fired upon is supposed to flee but the marines are to engage. He also talked a bit about the police situation over there. He says you can't trust any of them. They're only there most of the time to complete the classes because they get issued a brand new Glock which they sell. They also believe that the Iraqi "government" is paying for all the police cruisers so they just sell those as well.

Now I'm wondering why I've never voted Republican. It sounds like the wingnuts have created a virtual paradise out of Iraq. We could have all of that here if we'd just see the light and shed our liberal commie ways. I guess Bush's the man with the plan, eh?

Okay, I'll be serious now. I fully understand why the kids go nuts over Skittles, for they truly are the food of the gods!

4. I wonder yes I wonder --
What would America be like if we also had 67% unemployment - like Iraq?
Would children clamor, even demand the sweet soul food of childhood -candy?
Would adults do what they could to get something they could sell - to survive.

Wonder a little bit with me, okay? Or like my dear mother would say - "THINK!"

Go pedal your rack shellac elsewhere. What you're pedaling doesn't sell here.
