15. Stewart was on fire tonight

It wasn't the hilarious Jon Stewart we're all used to. Tonight, we saw a pissed off Jon Stewart, and he was confronting those that piss him off. He kept making the point that America NEEDS journalists. We need them to report honestly on politics and the state of the nation. He basically said that Crossfire was a dog & pony show put on by the parties, just to give themselves a forum.
Tuckered Carlson kept criticizing Stewart for not asking Kerry any "tough questions". Stewart kept pointing out that it was Tucker and Begala's job to ask the tough questions of politicians. I don't think either of them understood what Stewart was talking about. I sure did.
Tucker kept interrupting Stewart saying things like, "you're not being funny tonight". "I wouldn't want to have you over for dinner". Stewart replied, "you won't". Then Tucker said something like, "you're not very funny on our show", to which Jon replied, "You're a dick on your show, just like you are on other shows".
Earlier Stewart was criticizing all of the political pundits for heading right to "Spin row" after the debates to listen to the talking heads, who are all liars. Begala said no no, they believe what they're saying. I lost a lot of respect for Begala when he started defending the spinners.
Jon touched a lot of nerves tonight. This story should have legs.
