Anyone remember the Beatles Cartoon Show? |
|
The coolest tune on saturday mornings from 1965-69. Dopey storylines but great music. http://www.toontracker.com/beatles/beatles.htm

2. Just barely, but yeah -- I do remember. |
|
Of course, I think my older sister had taught me the lyrics to "I Wanna Hold Your Hand" before I was even out of diapers, so naturally I watched the Beatles cartoon!
I remember being one heartbroken first-grader when I heard the Beatles broke up.

4. Got every single episode on DVD, courtesy of a favorite bro-in-law |

My grandkids, who are 8 and 9, think they are hilarious. But they LIKE the stories and HATE the music, much to my chagrin! My granddaughter thinks the only Beatles song that is any good is "Yellow Submarine." *sigh* She likes (shudder) Britney Spears and something called Cheetah Girls. And Kenny Chesney. Yikes.
Oh well. She's young. If I can keep exposing her to what Clapton called "the proper records" perhaps I can get her tastes to mature!

the beatles had nothing to do with it. (except the royalties of course) Was very goofy and more a throw away cartoon to cash in.
A bit like "The Monkeys" in away.
"Yellow Submarine" was much better, even though the beatles had very little to do with that as well. (except the royalties of course)

7. Watched it every Saturday morning |
|
I loved it, of course.
I even would catch it whenever I could when MTV ran the show in their early days.

Of course, I was born in '83, so any memories I have of it are either false or from a past life. But either way, I loved it.

It came on right after George of the Jungle, I think. Cool show. Had two cartoons, with some sort of goofy singalong in the middle.

Just a group of stock voice-over folks trying their best with fake Liverpool accents.
At least when Hannah-Barbera did "Abbott & Costello" cartoons, they used Bud Abbott himself. And the "Three Stooges" cartoons used Moe Howard, Larry Fine, and Curly Joe De Rita.
