it's troll hunting season

i'm off to bed soon. i've been posting like mad trying to get out of the damn 700 club.

in clicking nearly every single thread since 9pm, I've noticed MANY trolls. I mean, WAY up from a few months ago. Obviously it's because the election is near.
The point I wasn't getting to is: should we raise the bar of how many posts a person has until they can start their own thread?

The first thing I do when reading posts is check the number of posts a person has. If it's under 100, I'm VERY suspicious. Half the time it seems, the person says something sane, to get their posts up, then starts a thread exposing themselves as a freeper.

Anyone else getting VERY wary of people with almost no posts/ haven't donated?
Should we make people contribute before they're allowed to start threads?

The reason I say that is that not everybody can afford to donate.

And think about this. We all had to start with zero posts.

I just don't feel the need to reply to every post that strikes my nerves...most people have already expressed my feelings by the time I read a thread anyway.

Newbies do not equal trolls. Trolls do not equal newbies. Further questions about the administration or operation of DU should be posted in the Ask the Administrators forum.

But since you're a veteran of the 700 club, you already know that... right?
