The local Repugs are gonna be pissed this AM!

As I spent an hour this early AM covering their entry way with little plastic army men. Each has a ribbon wrapped around it, and each ribbon has the name and either current station or cause of death for a soldier in Iraq. In bold type at the end:

"This Nov. 2, play with a toy soldier. Just don't re-elect one."

My "army" is also on the repug shelf at B&N, in the parking lot of local churches, inside all the Ann Coulter audiobooks (and like-minded mutants) at the three library branches, and in the mailboxes of anyone in my neighborhood with a * sign in their yard.

Didn't take any pix, stupid me.

Almost took one of the fishbowl that I was putting the "finished" soldiers in.

It was very sobering, actually, plastic or not, to see all these figures filling this glass container, and thinking about what/who they represented. I lost count but have used more than 700 "teacher's stars" to keep the ribbons closed. I haven't represented even all the dead soldiers, but still...

6. i would add a little touch.

cut off the guns(georgie didn't prepare them all that well did he) and cut off a few limb while you are at it. they can be the wounded. heck, i would burn a few. get real creative.
