BAKER, Fla. -- What started out as a domestic disturbance report turned into an arrest on moonshine and marijuana charges after a woman showed a sheriff's deputy where her husband made his whiskey and stashed his pot, authorities say.
Jared Nathan Booker, 34, was arrested on charges of possessing moonshine, illegal alcohol containers, a still and more than 20 grams of marijuana. He was booked into the Okaloosa County Jail on Sunday but later released.
When Deputy Tom Johnson arrived at the couple's rural Florida Panhandle home in response to a domestic disturbance call, Booker was in a shed and said he had been hiding from his wife, according to the arrest report.
It stated that the woman, who was obviously intoxicated, said she had been arguing with her husband and wanted him out.
As he was packing to leave, his wife insisted that Johnson accompany her to the shed where she showed him a garbage bag full of marijuana and several large containers of moonshine, Johnson wrote in the
report.
