Who is your favorite conservative pundit? |
|
I don't want to hear any "they all suck!" answers either.
Who can present their points from the right and not leave you thinking they are a complete moron?
I would have to say Scarborough, he strikes me as "not as loony" as the rest.

He convinced the press to run stories that she had a history of seizures, he convinced the medical examiner and police chief to claim their were no visible wounds or trauma to the body, and then admit they lied about that when they had a good excuse, and he then convinced the media to stop saying she had a history of seizures because it wasn't true.
He may not have killed her, but he certainly obstructed any chance to find out who did. And that's being generous.

|
Edited on Wed Oct-20-04 12:27 PM by janesez
You know, smaller federal government, more states' rights, big huge powerful military, fiscal conservatism. As in "Bill Clinton was the best Republican president we've ever had." PJ doesn't really give a fuck about social issues, I don't think.
If Republicans were still actually Republicans, I might even be one.

A "True" conservative. Erudite, calm and frightenly intelligent. Moreover, he can make a lucid argument that DOESN'T devolve into a shouting match.
I read his work and think "Hmm... the guys got a point. I don't AGREE with it, but it least you can understand the position"
With MOST RWP's (right wing pundits) I think "GEEZ what a pinhead" or "I thought the Mossad mopped up all those guys YEARS ago <grin> "

Not much of a fan of Buckley. He's like a reverse Hemmingway, grand language but deceptively simple. The old school pundits like Buckley, though, at least are conservatives and say what they believe. From Limbaugh forward, conservative pundits only spout the party line, even if it disagrees with last week's party line. No integrity.

That's his THING. My point is that he basically said, "Look, these people don't like me and I don't like them. There's no way those votes are mine." He is honest, though bigoted.

Most of the conservative pundits are idiots like Sean Hannity, or psychos like Ann Coulter.
Buckley is from the old days, when you didn't insult someone just because you disagree with him or her.

Imagine a "who is your favorite liberal pundit" thread over at FreeRepublic.
First off, the original poster would be banned, then every single reply would contain the words "traitor", "communist", "bitch" or a permutation of the three.

I haven't listened to him long enough to know what he says (he makes my head hurt). I do, however, admire him greatly for working so hard to get to the top of his profession.
Alcoholism runs in my family, so I can also respect his ability to stay functional even with his addiction to drugs. I've seen firsthand how addiction can ruin a person's job performance.
He must be doing something right. Someone listens to him. :eyes: I don't know who, but someone does. Somewhere. Maybe. Not that anyone admits.

44. O, sure. I'd respect rush too. |
|
If he wasn't such a liar, and a hypocrite, and an idiot to boot.
rush tells his audience what they like to hear. He exaggerates, makes things up, and flat out lies to further the Hallucinatory world in which his dittoheads like to live in. He is one of the primary reasons that the majority of conservatives still think Saddam was behind 9/11, that Iraq had Weapons of Mass Destructions, that Bill Clinton could have had Osama Bin Laden in custody years ago, that Hillary is a racist murderess, that ANWR really doesn't support many animals at all and drilling there would have a low impact on wildlife.
He fabricates daily, spinning the events of the world such that they do not contradict this conservative fantasyland. He speaks to their fear - a deeply bred fear of anything different than their myopic way of life. Fear of liberals, for we're all weak and dragging the system down. Fear of homosexuals, for they're all pedophiles. Fear of those who wear turbans and pray to a different god, for they're all terrorists.
He scoffs at Jerry Garcia's untimely death, despite his own dangerous addictions.
I guess if rush didn't do any of that, I might respect him too.
