Like Amy I've been listening to Randi since she came to New York. I got my Sirius radio so I could listen to Randi live. I used to listen to the Oregon station on my computer & didn't like having to wait for her.

Been a Randi fan since she came to New York. I just found the site recently through another group. I'm so glad I found this site. "I'M MAD AS HELL AND I'M NOT GONNA TAKE THIS ANYMORE!!!"
I'm determined to work long term at defeating the right wing propaganda.

yes! I agree. it's time we turn this liberal word around. If it weren't for liberals we'd still be part of England.

13. Check out the books of George Lakoff... |

...Professor of Linguistics from Berkely. His latest, a kind of primer, is called "Don't Think of an Elephant."

I hate to say this...
I admit I have 1 thing in common with doofus.
I don't read too many books. But, I do read lots of newspaper articles and magazines, but I just can't bring myself to finish a book. I have tons of books that I've bought and read only the first few chapters.
I saw the movie "Manufacturing Consent" recently it's sort of an older version of "Outfoxed" only more about how the media don't tell you everything.

16. I've heard of that. Noam Chomskey, right? |
|
Try "Don't Think of an Elephant." It was published as a short and easy to read capsulization of Lakoff's ideas.

Noam Chomsky must be speaking the truth, because I never see him on my TV.

The production is surreal; like a dream sequence during some segments. That dystopian shopping mall with the gigantic grid of television screens where Chomsky was speaking, and everybody was just going about their shopping, freaked me out.
I've have a similar condition to your own. I've bought many books, but have only had the time and the will to read through the beginnings of each. I read through the entirety of Greg Palast's "Best Democracy Money can Buy", though, and I highly recommend it!

"After more than a year of stonewalling, the government has finally released some documents, though many are heavily redacted," Singh said. "The records confirm the abuse was widespread."
