Another whammy. After 3 weeks of hearing nothing, |
|
I wrote an innocent message to a person I'd dated, asking if he was interested - and said I understood if he chose not to respond.
I got the usual "it's best if we'd be friends" routine.
I understand his POV on avoidance (he apologized for avoiding my last message), and I appreciate his guts to speak his mind.
It really wasn't painful to read. I never felt a connection, though the fact our personalities clicked did give me hope.
He wants to be platonic friends, and we do share a lot of interests.
Should I pursue a basic friendship anyway?
Thx! (don't worry, that's my last question on this wretched dating concept.)

In my experience this is a polite way of saying "it isn't working out"
Leave it alone

2. Can you enjoy a friendship with him |
|
without expecting him to get romantically involved? If so, I think you should pursue it; but you might want to wait awhile, to make sure he understands that you want to be a friend, and not a lover.

3. You can never have too many friends |
|
Go for it. Just don't go into the friendship thinking that maybe there's still a chance that it will develop into something more. You will be perpetually broken hearted.
