4. 1 being the worse and 10 being the best I'm at 8.
I feel that Bush will try to steal this thing. It's the only way that he has gotten anything in life is by stealing!

6. Hi ALL,

Since I cannot start a thread...

I have been lurking for some time but visit several times a day. People around here seem awfully optimistic and always seem to put the most optimistic spin on everything (wolf ad, debates, polling numbers, endorsements). From visiting this board, it feels like Kerry is assured a victory. At least I get that feeling after visiting here. But I have to say that I am scared s#$^less. I do not see any evidence that Bush and Rove are wearing down, or that they have lost control of their campaign, or that Repubs are running scared or desperate. I do not hear conservative talk-show hosts acting as if they are desperate.

What I see is people on both sides getting energized, and also that no matter what breaks against Bush (economic numbers, bad news from Iraq, failed intelligence etc.), they somehow manage to spin out of it or shuffle it under the carpet. I also see many polls that indicate that Bush is gaining in popularity.

So basically I am not trying to pour cold water, but am very nervous about it all. I wish that wishful thinking and being optimistic were enough but the reality is that it probably is not.

Sorry if this sounds overly pessamistic.

10. It's not a sure thing for either side
The polls are in flux, to be sure. But voter reg is at an all-time high. Dems seem to be far more energized to me. Kerry is out there saying the things that I want brought into the public discourse. Our odds are very good and it's time for the final push.

The only thing that saddens me is the division of our country. We used to be able to compromise, but the Freepers demand their own way all the time on every single issue. They just want our party and our views to die - no compromise. Perhaps when/if Kerry wins we Democrats will be magnanimous and inclusive thus helping us all to a better place as Americans.

11. It's okay - I feel like I've been holding my breath for weeks -
mostly because I fear voter suppression and accusations of foul play more than I feel as though Kerry can't win this thing fairly. Also, I live in a swing state, so IMHO, I think that can make it a little tougher on the nerves.

:hi:

7. Very Optimistic
things seem to be breaking in Kerry's favor. The Big Dawg making some appearances, the missing 380 tons of explosives, and Rehnquist possibly having to retire. All of these are good omens.

8. Yes, I'm optimistic
I really believe that enough people have opened their eyes and that enough have gotten motivated that we will prevail. I realize Rove and Co. will do everything they can to buy/steal/cheat their way back in but I don't think it's going to happen this time.

I'm definitely optimistic but I sure cannot wait until it's over. Between the election and the Red Sox, I'm a frigging mess!
