5. to lose to a team which lost to Maine
UNFORGIVEABLE!!! This firing is not surprising. Maybe the timing is. I did't expect it until the end of the season. Maybe even give ONE more chance if he won out and beat Florida State. But he is over his head. Time to cut the losses and get that program back on the right track. There is no excuse of this school to not be in the top ten.

7. hey, three questions for you:
how many teams with black head coaches has Florida played in the past decade?

How many of those games have they lost?

How many Florida coaches have been fired the next day?

Obviously Zook was over his head, but why not fire him last week? or next week? why pick the first time the team has ever lost to a team with a black head coach? surely it's just a coincidence, right?

8. How many teams has with Black head coaches has Florida lost to?
For the morons among us...... Florida hasn't lost to any UNRANKED teams since 1989 under the prior coach and has lost so few games during the prior coaches 12 years tenure it's shocking. It's only more shocking losing to such a poorly coached crap ass outfit as that team Florida played Saturday. That garbage lost to Div 1-AA Maine only a few weeks ago.

Additionally, vilifying Florida, the school in The SEC that recruited and played more Black players earlier than the other SEC schools, is outrageous. During Coach Doug Dickie's tenure in the late 60's and early 70's FSU along with the other SEC schools refereed to Florida's team as..... "Dickie's Darkies."

Having endured those racists back then enduring your overt racism now is not much different.

11. gee, Florida? what a racially progressive place
three more questions for you:

how many black head coaches are there at Florida in any sports?

How many black assistant coaches are there?

How many members of the administrative team at the university are black?

how many members of the Board of Overseers are Black?

what percentage of Full Professors are Black?

but you are right, no one ever pays attention to race in Florida, geez, the place is bascially color blind, we all know that.

9. The race of the coach is not important........
What is important is that Miss St. had the WORST offense in D-1 football entering the game and had gotten whooped by both UAB and Vanderbilt. They were also beat, on their home field, by D1aa team UMaine. There is no excuse and no choice but to fire that worthless, no talent hack Zook.

6. An entire coaching staff of lame ducks for the rest of the season?
What sense or benefit is that? I don't remember that scenario in 30+ years of following football.

I'm sure we'll see a really enthusiastic series of performances from the Gators the rest of the year.

As a Hurricane fan, I thought Zook deserved a lifetime contract.
