3. I hug my birdies every day, and they don't have fleas.
Of course, they also shit on my clothing. So you've gotta take the good with the bad, I s'pose.

5. Cats are remarkably clean animals.
If they are flea-ridden, that is the fault of the owner, not the cat. Cats clean themselves unless they are very, very ill, in which case that is again the fault of the owner. If the cats are filthy or flea-ridden, I strongly suggest your SO takes them to the vet.

If you are just exaggerating because you are not a cat fan, I imagine you're not going to get very much support in here.

14. And then they lick YOUR face!!!!!!!!
What can I say. A fish is completely incapable of such sociably inapproriate behavior.

8. No offense intende but cat litter is filthy
Cats have been gone for about 4 months and I am still sucking up litter as I vacuum the basement carpeting.

I'd rather clean-up fish poop.

13. There are probably 100 solutions to that problem.
You can get covered litter boxes, and place them on mats that are specially designed to catch the litter on kitty's paws after he gets out of the box. We had those and I never saw a single stray piece of litter on the floor around the mats. Once a month, we took the mats outside and shook the litter out of them. We used hard-clumping litter and there was never any smell.

You could walk right up to the closet that contained the boxes and never know we had cats. But it took a little effort.

16. Only if it is a profitable fish...
I can imagine support for catfish but I really see no purpose for dogfish that only show up for dissection in lower level biology courses
