there ya go stereo-typing ... I am a Christian and a former pastoor and hey, I used to have the BEST church Halloween parties where I would emcee after coming out of a casket! Oh how I loved that - and the youth and parents did, too -- and many of them went on to live good, healthy, Christ-centered lives! Hahaha. So, hey, HAPPY HALLOWEEN -- ya know, it is derived from Hallowed (Blessed) Evening anyway! Fun is fun and we Christians are not ALL stuffed shirts! LOL

I've heard from various fundies that:

1. It's Satan worship.


2. There are demons abroad at night on Oct. 31, and so all children should be safely at home. (Is this why some communities, like the one in Ohio I grew up in, have "Beggar's Night," a night other than Oct. 31, for trick or treat instead?)


3. Demons and ghouls are not things to be taken lightly, and they'll get even with your kids if they do so.

So they think it's a terrible tradition. Me, I think it's a wonderful opportunity for kids to get creative, not only with what they choose to be but how they go about making their costume. I miss that more than the candy, now that I'm too old for it.

I am 63 and didn't stop until I got spinal disease that put me in a wheelchair much of the time... and would right now if I wanted to... and me and my Jesus would dance far into the night! LOL

Seriously, why do we have to lock our brains in a box when we accept the Christ and his sacrifice for our salvation? Not me! I saw a poster who had a little signature that said, "Life may not be the party I planned, but while I am here, I WILL dance!"
