Is there something wrong with me, or us? |
|
The few Kerry supporters i know are disappointed, but disappointed like their baseball team lost....as if it's just a game. Everything will be fine tomorrow. Maybe i follow politics too much, or care more.....I don't know the answers, but i'm feeling crushed.

1. I think people are sad, but feel like it will be the swan song for the |
|
republicans ultimately. Grieve then stay involved!

I follow politics a lot, but your friends are making the right descision. Weeping is not going to change anything, and just meandering on the subject will be a huge distraction for you.

the actual loss than I am about the direction of the country. The reason I wanted Kerry was so I could hope for a better tomorrow..now I just feel the next four years looming over me. My hopes are overshadowed by my poor expectations and my heart just feels heavy about it.

It's no so much that our "guy" lost, it's the implication for the future that is so upsetting.

6. I've been avoiding the news while I get my strength back up |
|
Admittedly I've avoided just about all "speeches" the shrub has made in the first 4 years. I think I can do it again this time around.
I just can't stand to listen to the "liberal" media today. I've had enough for right now. I'm feeling crushed also, but trying to keep positive a little. It's better when you have some time to heal a little before plowing forward. It's hard to imagine how to move forward from here when something is so clearly wrong with the efforts from the left. Will we be able to figure out what is wrong and start to fix it before 2006 elections?
 to you ... everyone is coping in their own way, I guess.

10. yes, I feel like something is wrong with the left |
|
It feels like, with so many fundies, there's not much chance of ever being competitive. I just don't know what to do going forward. Hope someone can figure something out, or there's always the chance the right will over play their hand. Right now though, it feels like we've got some major re-tooling to do in order to win anything.

A little disillusioned like I'm not sure I even want to follow politics anymore. Most Kerry supporters I knew acted like they lost a regular season baseball game. Most bush supporters acted like they won at trivial pursuit, like they're smarter than me because their guy won :eyes: I hope they finally have enough rope to hang themselves but it's hard to think like that right now.

9. Well this is fucking great |
|
Not only is everybody going after Kerry, now people are going after his supporters too?? Well fuck you people. We have kissed your asses for almost a year now trying to keep this party together and have some semblance of a unified campaign. We're absolutely demoralized and stuffing our own feelings to allow everybody else to vent. And it's still not enough for you whiny ingrates. If this is the Democratic wing of the Democratic Party, I need a new fucking party.

11. I feel as you do. I am amazed at the attitude of "Oh, well, tomorrow |
|
is another day" la, la, la, la......
I am absolutely devastated. This was NOT just another election - this was a fight for the very soul of this country. I just can't understand anyone who claims to be a Democrat and acts flip about the whole thing.
Listen to Mike Malloy, it might help. It's helping me.

Everything will NOT be fine tomorrow! Not at all, the Fourth Reich has yet to begin it's onslaught! Am I upset? You fucking bet I am! But I'm not about to curl up in a fetal ball just yet, I still have responsibilities...
We are entering a Brave New World, a throwback to the Middle Ages when Faith governed all and dissenters faced the Inquisition and being burned alive...This is the America we now face and there is little time to figure out how to deal with it...
Kerry conceeded, the election is done, it is time to figure out what to do next and we have to be quick about it!

I was at the grocery store today (amazed I managed to drag myself there - I looked like hell. Didn't even really brush my hair. Kinda smoothed it and put it in a ponytail. And wore a hat)
Anyway, it's the store I work at but I've been out on disability and everyone there was terribly bummed. People were talking about how hard it was to work all day. I was surprised actually, because right up until today, I didn't know how passionate about it my co workers were. I haven't seen them too much and when we do, they're working so we haven't been really talking.
At least four or five different people talked to me about it and one girl started to cry in the parking lot. It's not just us.
