They are decorating for Christmas already!
Is there an unwritten law that says stores must decorate for Xmas a day earlier than the previous year, every year?

1. NOOO!!!
I think it ought to be law that they can't put up Xmas decorations until after my birthday (December 1st) or at least after Thanksgiving.

2. Your stores just started? Ours have been set up since May ...
J/K .... although it seems like it. When I went Halloween shopping (weeks before Halloween) there were already stores with isles of Christmas stuff. :eyes:

3. They started the day after Hallowe'en!
Turkey decorations aren't really big sellers, I guess.

5. The reason why . . .
I had a seasonal job in "Visual Merchandising" for Macy's one year. The reason why they start so early with the decorations: Because they do SO MANY of them. My department worked 12-hour days, seven days a week from October through early December.

It's really overkill, in more ways than one.

6. I thought it was the second that the Halloween candy went on sale
was when the Christmas decorations went up...

7. yes, around here you could not buy halloween candy unless
you fought your way through the christmas decorations. And it is always right inside the door so you cannot avoid it at all. I am beginning to hate the color red, and really resent all the money grubbing. I'd love to skip christmas and the tree and all, except the presents.

8. MUST CONSUME....
YOU ARE NOW COMMANDED TO BEGIN THE X-MAS CONSUMPTION SEASON - THAT IS ALL

And yes, the floggings will continue until morale (and sales) improve.
