Thanksgiving movie: If your family puts the funk in disfunctional |
|
Just rented a terrific video called Pieces of April - basically a Goth adult daughter in the Village ends up hosting Thanksgiving dinner for her relatives from the burbs, as well as an eclectic assortment of NYC neighbors. It is funny and heartbreaking and reminds us that Thanksgiving started as a group of people facing a harsh winter, coming together to share with each other. It's not unlike the 4 year harsh winter of our discontent which we dems are facing. Added bonus, the Dad is played by one of my favorite actors, the incredibly charming and delightful Oliver Platt!

My other favorite Thanksgiving movie is "Home for the Holidays" with Holly Hunter & Robert Downey Jr.
