I think it would be interesting to consume something that was made in 1854. Im guessing it tastes pretty good, eh?

6. you, sir, are a liar. and I can prove it |

There are no 150 year old bottles of "Lafite Rothschild" in existence, simply because the Rothschild family did not purchase Chateau Lafite until 1868, a mere 136 years ago. Ergo, while 1854 vintage wine was produced by Chateau Lafite, I find it remarkable that the owners of the Chateau, Aimé-Eugène Vandelberghe, and the operator, Sir samuel Scott, would have produced a wine with the name of a rival family on the label.
Plus, 1854 was not a particulary good year for Lafite, so anything left from that year would be crappy.
and yes, before you ask, I am a geek about these things.

since it needs decanting anyway, I can deal with the glass.
although I'd really prefer an 82 petrus.
