I was waiting for the final release, which was supposed to be ready last month. I continued to use Opera while I waited... and waited.... and waited.

I can rarely get anything to play inside Mozilla, though I have winamp, quicktime, mediaplay and realaudio.

21. Try Camino Browser, also from the Mozilla people. |
|
It's faster than Safari, and has similar features to Firefox.

22. Ok, I just said I'm a Mac newbie so here's a dumb question... |
|
Will Camino work on a Mac?
Btw, my Safari and cable have me downloading at TWICE the speed of IE.

It seems that Safari has almost identical features as Camino. What would I be missing by staying with Safari?

25. Camino is just faster. |
|
Tons faster! Especially on heavy photo pages. Also, it works better with a two-button mouse, if that's what you're used to. Give it a shot. It's only a 7 MB download.

and it works as wonderfully as all the previous versions. The d/l site for these is down at the moment, I think, due to come back later today.
If you haven't tried Firefox do yourself a favour and get it. Adblock! Flashblock! No spyware! Get rid of bloody IE, that clunky, bloated piece of you know what.

I'll snag the official release in a couple of weeks when the extensions are supported.
Never, ever download the new release on day one. Personal rule of mine.
