My NC "Oldies" Music Station is changing format because the 25-54 Age |
|
Group is now out of the "key advertiser demographics." They are going to to "classic rock, U-2 and DuranDuran."
Gone...dead........we don't matter anymore...because of why? Gotta hook us more on "them creedit cards...mo fah."
Disgusting. :puke:

1. Yeah, and my rock station |
|
Changed to an oldies station. The other one went country. It's radio, that is how it works. Try being a member of the generation that came right after the baby boomers if you want to feel invisible. ;)
If you can afford it, get satellite radio before their marketing department kills the quality the way they did to on air radio.

Sometimes we're boomers, other times we're Gen X. Pity us poor saps who were born in the Kennedy/Johnson years.

So now you are my sworn DU enemy. :)
Actually, Sirius is great, too. My husband has Sirius. Left of Center is my favorite channel, plus they carry the full AA line up.

And they CC doesn't control operations. I think they own even less now, but that I'm not sure about that. Anyway, don't make me have to flame you. :)

10. So...you are saying I should get Sirius in my car and at home...how do I |
|
do this? Is there some way to get both so that I don't have to go "back and forth? A "box" or something that's portable? I don't want to pay for two separate hook ups.

11. There is for XM, and I think there is for Sirius. |
|
My XM is car only, now, but before I traded my last car in I had a set up where I could take out the receiver, and plug it into my stereo at home so I could listen to XM at both places with one subscription. I'm almost positive you can do that now with Sirius, too.
There is rumor that soon with XM there will be receivers that let you rewind live music, kind of like TiVo for your car.

15. Let me know which one you like. |
|
I think they're both great, but if you like talk radio, Sirius has a better line up. If you like listening to lots of music that traditional radio never plays, then XM is great. XM has talk radio too, but not as much as Sirius, and they dont carry the full AA lineup.

3. My oldies station is playing... |
|
... songs that were NEW when I was in high school. Aaaaiieeee!
How could this have happened? There must have been some sort of time-dilation-continuum-reversal-thing, or something. What other logical explanation could there be?
:D

4. Our best rock station changed to Mexican oldies |
|
It was a great station too - played old rock and good new stuff. It had been around for a long time. I turned on the radio in the car one day and got old Mexican ballads. Said :wtf: and twiddled the dial - figured it was some strange atmospheric trick. No trick - they changed overnight.

7. I hate hearing old music |
|
I'd much rather have something current.
Lived through those eras, and once around was more than enough.

I just poured a bourbon, and am putting on John Denver's Greatest Hits CD.
I wish I had an old record player right now....
