MEN-struation
According to my SO, all men should, at least once in their lives, spend three days with a small pouch slowly leaking red ink strapped to their crotches.

You will get some on you, no matter what you do. Day and night, at work and asleep, you must contend with the pouch, stopping the flow as best you can. You will do this by shoving hard little spears of cotton up your ass and going merrily about your business.

When your friends say, "Hey, Joe, let's go shoot some hoops," you will say, "You guys go ahead. I've got to go change my tampon. It's digging into my side and killing me."

I don't think I'll take that bet. I have long suspected that menstruation is not for me.

1. And it should be tightened to the point you're not sure you can
stand up straight.

Added to which, you should have a headache that starts behind your eyes and ends at your toes.

Just thought I'd attempt to complete the experience.

9. Her words, not mine
I think men could learn from women, but then - we're men.

3. Heh
but some men are quite sympathetic. My husband would have mine for me if he could, I think. He sees what I go through.

One day, I had a horrible day at work. Let's just say I wasn't prepared. Spent the better part of the day with a jacket tied around my waist (and I teach eighth graders--OY).

I came home, retaining Boston Harbor, wondering if my clothes were beyond saving, cramps so bad I could hardly stand upright and he said "So honey, how was your day?"

I took off the jacket wrapped around my waist, bent my knees so as to give him a better view, threw up my arms and said "GREAT!"

He looked like he didn't know whether to laugh or be horrified. He got up, plugged in the heating pad, poured a shot of Crown Royal and grabbed an 800 mg Ibuprofen, and said, "hand me the clothes."

God I love that man. I drank the whiskey with the pill, curled up fetal-style on the heating pad and just cried. He rubbed my lower back for thirty minutes.

I don't think he needs to experience it to be truly sympathetic.

8. What a cool guy!
My husband just has to hear the beginnings of the word "per..." when he says, "oh, nevermind!" And acts disgusted and really doesn't want to think of it. Sad for him, I guess, that he has 2 daughters, and it is a constant subject around here! }(

4. It really does suck.
As does labor (and for me, the entire pregnancy deal).

Sigh.

11. I get that from some women, LOL...
And I think you ladies must be some kind of moms to be so happy going through it!

It was terrible for me, but the whole bringing life to the world thing was of course very cool. ;)

And not all men. :)

16. It can be somewhat uncomfortable, but it's not terrible
In fact, most men love to wake up with a boner all the time. So do their lady friends.
