to put up holiday lights on the front porch?
i want to put mine up really bad, it's the only holiday decorating I do and i would love to leave them up all year, but I know that is faux pas.
so what's the word on putting them up before thanksgiving?

:hi:
As for holiday lights, I detest seeing them before Thanksgiving, But I am a Pagan and thus the wrong person to ask. LOL

Thanks for the welcome, I love it here!
I used to hate them too, then I put them up myself! I would wrap the whole house and yard in them if I thought it might not lead to divorce. I am inches away from white trash sometimes!
ps- I am the family heretic, so I can understand where you are coming from, I think!

If you don't care what folks think, then do it. Opinion on this will always vary. Personally, I don't like them before (at least) the billion Christmas tree lots open up. That should be at the beginning of Dec, I suppose.
Nice thing about Festivus. No decorations...just a heavy, silver pole.
on edit: what folks THINK, not thing.

love that one.
I so don't get into any other decorations, so I go a bit overboard. I am in a new neighborhood and don't want to piss anyone off, yet. I am feeling a strong desire to get freaky with it and go way off the deep end. But, my SO (the bizarro-world me) will freak out as well if I do. I am not sure if this is a battle I want to fight, unless many many people can give me arguement fodder to convince him it's not totally out of line.
And now...the feats of strength!
