NO! I won't be joining the 11:30 walkers (blanket office e-mail I sent)
Okay a few months ago my workplace started a wellness program. I fully support people excercising it has lead to some very long lunches aroud here, that is fine. I workout (about a 1 mile run everyday) by myself but no one seems to care that they have never seen me on one of these group walks.

Everyday I get tons of e-mails about where the 11:30 and 12:00 and 12:30 walkers are going to meet. And then people blanket reply about whether they can make it and so on. Seriously there must be 20 e-mails everyday-they just started with the "Lower your holiday stress level" and "How to shop"ones.

So finally today I fired 10 e-mails back to the sender and one blanket e-mail to everyone that read:

I’m sorry I couldn’t make it the 11:30 walk so what I am going to do is e-mail this back to EVERYONE ten times so they know that I didn’t make it. Of course that shouldn’t be a surprise because I have never made the 11:30 or 12:00 or 12:30 walk. That is all.

So far the responses back have been very appreciative. Of course, wouldn't you know, every who has the "Out of Office" setting on their e-mail automatically fired one back (8total) to me. My boss already told me that she liked the e-mail.

Oh and by the way-the third floor bathroom where NO soap is available after you GO TO THE BATHROOM has been fixed. I yanked (unscrewed)the soap dispenser out from under the counter.

Head colds make me pissy.

1. Sounds like you're just stuck on a distribution list ...
Find out who owns it and have them remove you.

4. How do you do it?

How do you get the ambition to run a mile everyday?

I get annoying emails like that on my campus all the time. Always reminding me of some stupid resume writing workshops and whatnot.

7. I have been running since I was 13
I have been slack about it for a while (7 days in a row and then take 2 or 3 days off) and decided to get back into the groove.

Seriously once you start excercising you feel like the day is wasted without doing it. When I was in school (8 years ago) I played b-ball for at least an hour everyday and run most days. You just have to get into it. Seriously do something for the next say 6 days and then do nothing for two and see if you don't miss it. Anything it doesn't have to be running.

9. That's good advice.
I work-out, but I just can't run. I get tired after a 1/2 mile.

I should get my heart re-checked before I run again. If it's ok, then off to the track (running, not gambling)!

5. BASTARD!!
you WILL walk and you WILL enjoy EVERY email you get EVERY DAY telling you that YOUR walking group is meeting at THE SAME TIME AND THE SAME PLACE THAT THEY ALWAYS DO!

no, you will NOT get any work done (that's just cruel)

you will also:

-BUY CANDY FROM EVERY EMPLOYEE'S CHILD
-WISH EVERY COWORKER A HAPPY BIRTHDAY VIA EMAIL AND DECORATE THEIR CUBE
-VOLUNTEER FOR XMAS PARTY COMITTEE DUTY
-LEARN TO LOVE BEING SURROUNDED BY IDIOT COWORKERS FOR 8-10 HOURS A DAY

or....

didn't you get the memo?

but not so much with the birthday announcements.

BTW- you've never seen a Christmas/Kwanzaa office party until you have worked with 175 black women and 50 black males (I am about one of 25 white males in this organization) it is a sight to behold-lots of fun too.

And don't even ASK about the Black History Month lunch:party:
