1. I wear a tie about a dozen times a year to work |
|
If I go to meetings, which works out to about twice or thrice a month, I wear Business Casual usually. The rest of the time, I'm at home, in whatever I want to wear. A PhD can be worth the effort.............

9. Thank God I don't wear ties! |
|
The only time I've worn a tie in the past four or five years was in a concert where all the chorus men had to wear coat and tie. I was getting paid to sing, so I did what I was told.
The Pager dress code: chinos or khakis, button-down shirt (polo shirt in summer), other casual shoes

10. I only wear one for situations |
|
like Board meetings or meetings with upper management of certain clients (I work with an international CPA firm). Because I am based in Austin, Texas, our office here is very business casual. In total, maybe about 10-12 times a year.

I work for a major defense contractor. The rule used to be dress shirt & tie Monday thru Friday, business casual on Fridays; we went business casual every day from Memorial Day thru Labor Day.
Now, we're business casual every day, with one exception - if we're meeting with a client, we have to wear a tie.

:) But when I go out I put on business casual, because I will be crawling through bushes and also wading through mud at new construction sites to measure houses. :hi:

14. bow tie - flame if you must |
|
Although I wear a neck tie to most job interviews, afterwords when I have to wear a tie I wear a bow tie. started years ago as a very successfull effort to annoy a conservative boss. I don't normally have to wear a tie but when I do it's a tastefull bow tie.
