DU Students Group (Jr High, High School, University, Graduate Students) |
|
I think that it's very important for us students to view our studies through the perspective of an open-minded, liberal type, and also for us to discuss our problems (school + otherwise) with people who are A) in our age group/school situation B) share many of our philosophical, political, and social ideas. The new "DU Groups" feature is a wonderful opportunity to create a wonderful community of liberal students within an already amazing community of liberal thinkers of all ages.
I'm no good at mission statements (after all, I haven't yet been assimilated into corporate culture ;)), but I think this could suffice at least temporarily:
The DU Students Group will foster a community specifically for the ideas of, issues, and problems facing liberal students all around the world - whether they are students at a Junior High/Middle School, High School, Junior College, College/University, or Graduate School.
I know we have waaay more than 10 students here at DU. So who's with me?

2. Hrm. Didn't see a college forum. |

Is it still "in limbo"? I was under the impression that Skinner was uncomfortable with the idea of setting up a forum for younger children - say, under the age of 13 (there's some law dealing with web registration for forums and the age 13...).
