Best dark chocolate?
It's cold and I'm craving dark chocolate. I'm not a fan of Godiva. Recommendations?

3. Alas, no.
I've seen their Fearless Flier, though, and get hankerings for the strangest things when I browse it.

4. I'm a big fan of Valrhona
...if you can find it.

Personally, I am heading downstairs in a minute to have some Trader Joe's dark chocolate pastilles and a big glass of milk. Yum.

5. Depends on what you want to do with it...
for cooking, nothing beats Valrhona--it's what all the best chefs and restaurants use. If you just want to eat some and you don't have a really good mom and pop store around, I'd stick with some belgian brand--hard to go wrong. Agree with you on Godiva, though.

11. According to Prevention magazine...
Dove dark chocolates have one of the highest levels of flavonoids (due to their cocoa processing)...they're not bad. And you can probably find them at any supermarket, in a pinch. Probably not fair trade, though.

15. Nice mouth feel on the Dove dark, though.
We buy store brand stuff from Trader Joe's, now that we have one up the street, but the Dove dark is competitive with some of the more expensive stuff for pure flavor and mouth feel.

13. Several excellent chocolates.................
Scharffenberger bittersweet is great but expensive. I get it at Whole Foods Market.

Trader Joe's has a GREAT deal on some really nice dark. I pay $1 for a 3-pack of small bars, and it's NICE.

Droste is great, too. Never had Valrhona.

14. Doves.
They come in milk chocolate and dark chocolate. Packages of about 40 bite-sized pieces. That should get you through the night.

Around here, you can get them at Kroger's or, usually, Target.

I'm a bit of a chocolate snob, and this is the best chocolate I can find that's easily available. Droste is good too.
