Enjoy it! Things could be a lot worse! Make some hot chocolate, cuddle up with a blanket, and go the hell back to sleep! :D

We have about 1 1/2 inches here east of Portsmouth.
I guess we won't be taking my son to the NE Aquarium today. :(

5. I can only imagine what you are going through |
|
I have lived my entire life in the deep south, with the exception of three years in Germany. Although I have been to your beautiful state of NH, I really do not know much about snow and what it is like. Most of my time visiting the north has been in the summer (vacations in Maine, NYC, etc.) I have only seen snow six times in my life in SC; and it usually melted as it fell, or within a few hours. However, when I lived in Germany and it snowed, I was like a child with a new toy; I was absolutely fascinated with the stuff. I would go outside and stare at the falling snow. The Germans looked at me as if I were somewhat crazy. This was the only time in my life that I have seen frozen lakes, ponds and rivers. Also, I have never seen snow skis and ice skates up close.
As I am writing this, it is 51 outside with an expected high temperature of 65 today. I will try and send you some "warmth vibes" if you would like.

6. NW Indiana always gets pummeled. Every Year. |
|
I hate snow. I HATE it. It's pretty, fine. But driving in it is a bitch. It snows here every year and people forget how to drive in snow. Plus, out here in the boonies, there is nothing to stop the wind so the snow drifts all over the road and you can't see anything.

13. We get snowed in at least one day a year. |
|
State Road 43 drifts shut north and south of town, the cops close the road at the IGA (at least we can get food) and that's that until the wind lays down and the plows dig through. I-65 even closes sometimes.
I kinda enjoy it.

14. I like the look of it... |
|
But I hate drifting snow. I can't see anything and it always leads to accidents. I don't know why they can't put up wind barriers on some of the main roads. Even temporary ones would do wonders.

7. It warmed up to 53 for the overnight low. |

My kids have never seen snow living deep in the heart of TX. We've thought about taking them north for Christmas to give them a frame of reference, but that would be quite a long drive.
I never liked driving in it when I lived in Dallas, but overall I enjoyed the weather change. Dallas had just enough snow for romance (IMO).
