Poll question: How is your housekeeping these days? |
Is there a difference over the last 1-3 years? Are you a Good Housekeeping cover, or a Dorm Room Disaster centerfold? Who do you blame? AND.... HOW BAD IS IT!!!!

2. Definitely 'lived in' but not bad. |
I'm much neater than I used to be, since I own my home now.

4. I'm a bit of a neatnik. |
I don't think I'm overboard about it, but my house is clean and tidy most of the time. I have no backlog of laundry. I could have guests over at any time.

7. No One Is Allowed Inside |
Big Mess! Took all the junk out of all the closets to go through and clean out and to paint the insides of the closets. Have also been taking down wallpaper and painting throughout the house. Smart thing would have been to do one room at a time. But no. I just jumped right in and now I have a huge disaster. Wallpaper is gone :) and rooms are painted. Closets and junk in them are another matter. There is dog hair on the floor that needs to be vacumed. Dishes and laundry need to be done. I shampooed carpet in one bedroom tonight. Hope to have that room in order soon. The rest of the mess will just have to wait its turn. And then there will be one hell of a garage sale. Despite appearances to the contrary I am trying to fix this mess so that I can sell this house and go somewhere a bit more progressive than JOklahoma.

10. We are in a similar boat... our Los Altos house is worth 1.2 NOW |
but w/in 8 months I predict a precipitous decline. Our neighborhood has always been immune to declines, but the next year will prove interesting. We will bail and rent before moving.

11. Market Has Already Declined Here |
Mostly because the economy here s*cks. And it will not get better here until after it gets better elsewhere. Tulsa has lost thousands of $75,000 a year jobs and replaced them with call center work and Indian gaming. We unemployed professionals are all looking for a place to go. And the expatriot life is starting to look quite attractive to me.
I suppose the same thing is happening elsewhere. But Tulsa got hit really hard with job losses during the past 2 to 3 years. Williams, Worldcom, American Airlines, Citgo, just for starters.

12. I'm in Silicon Valley... we are as immune as it gets from |
housing bubble issues....Stanford, Berkley... we are RELATIVELY immune. I'm looking at National $$value loss issues. I wish I could say it's not gonna happen, but it already is.
