Or just the Bailey's.
But if you are insistent on tea with honey, I'll scrounge around the cupboards and wee what I can come up with.

In the home economics class that I was forced to take in grade 8, we learned about the psychological factors in eating. Purple ketchup was not specifically covered, but it provides an impediment to me. Maybe after some more crown royal.

But that said, I have yet to see the movie. But the movie doesn't matter, the Hollywood politics does.

And they are no less aerodynamic than a helicopter, which is what I flew. So it's almost the same thing. What did you fly?

Do you mind if I PM you? It's getting difficult to find each new post, and we seem to be the only ones left posting in here, anyway.

I read your post about leaving the GOP. I too am a "recovering Republican".
I think I just voted that way because that's what I thought people did. In 2000, I really had a dislike for Mr. Bush, and that is when I started reading more and paying attention.
Now, I realize that I've always been for personal freedoms, and must have always been a flaming liberal -- I just wasn't "aware" enough to know it.

Strange how fun it is to be able to really see things from another perspective, and not through the narow, shrill prism of the hard right wing of the Republican party.

The Re-biblicans may have the power now, but this is one little woman who is going to be an activist now and in the future, and every Kerry voter I meet has the same reaction.
Please tell your wife that I admire her backbone for fighting for your health, and tell yourself that you "married above" yourself and to be thankful.

we are on the outs. She asked for a divorce a couple of weeks ago, and that status quo hasn't changed yet.
As for the activist part, I'm going to run for city council when I get a good handle on the issues in the new community I just moved to.
All politics is local.

64. I try to separate politics and sports. |
|
To me, they are separate entities, and one of the last places where people can find common ground on a lot of things.
My dad has had a lot of problems with my political leanings lately, and we've gotten into some heated discussions about politics. But we always come back from the abyss by talking about the Vikings, or the Twins, or football in general.
It means a lot to me that my dad and I have common ground on something that will always help bring our relationship around.
Does that make any sense, or am I getting into the soppy soliloquies of the hopelessly drunk?

I am only 30 minutes from Lambeau. Moved here for a job, but left my heart with the Vikings. I've only lived here for 18 months of my 38 years but have really developed a fondness for my new state. Even if we end up settling down here for good, I will always stand out with my purple jersey in a sea of green and gold.

95. "Skol" is a Scandinavian word that has several different meanings... |
|
depending on what you read. "Skol Vikings" is the title of the Vikings fight song. In this case, "Skol" means to fight and triumph, I think. As for the lyrics to the song, I'll spare you.
Unless you REALLY want to know.

I was raised by Republican parents. Joined (and am still in) the military since 1986, and it's a pretty conservative lifestyle and way of thinking, for the most part. Just been around that way of thinking my whole life.
Took a couple of significant personal events to help change my way of thinking. I'm still somewhat conservative (maybe Libertarian) on some issues, but I'm changing. Slowly but surely.

104. You do know that Hefeweizen isn't really beer, right? |
|
Of course, any beer shouldn't really be called beer if you can still see through it.
Hope you find your happy medium (not on beer, but on your political stances). I was raised by a Republican father, and when I first registered, I registered as a Republican. The familial influence is great.
I still fee like a fiscal conservative and social moderate. It works for me.
That, and dark beer.

106. I'd say it was your age |
|
but perhaps not.
The beer, that is. I couldn't stand beer for the longest time. Hefeweizen was the first beer that I could handle. (I still have a soft spot for Widmer's Hefe). But now, if it isn't dark, it simply ain't beer.
But since you were in the military in 1986, I'm guessing we're about the same age. So it isn't the age.
