Here's a few of mine. I went to Berkeley, I have many. ;-)

I met a fellow student who lived in trees. He showered at the Gym and spent most nights living in trees. I don't think he couldn't afford differently but he wanted to get closer to nature.

Many, many 'preachers' spoke on the Plaza every day. There were the crazy ones, the naked ones, the just make you worried ones. Then there were the ones who followed you around until you either confronted them or found a way to hide.

Oh, the fellow students who were drug runners, spent weekends with the moonies, hung with the hare krishnas, and communist party.

1. Rev.Fred Phelps, AKA the "God hates fags" idiot

came to my campus every few weeks to spew his hate. He was certainly a campus crazy. I went to The University of Kansas BTW.

2. University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, 1992-1996

Man, where do I begin?

Stony the Clown: I don't think he was crazy, but real theatrical. Kind of like a radical clown or something - would go out in the diag (sort of like a square where there's diagonal sidewalks going to it) and talk about stuff like how liberal universities had long slender phallic symbol bell towers and conservative ones had short stubby ones.

Shakey Jake Woods: This guy is like a blues singer street musician, but he really doesn't know how to play. He'll like strum without making real chords and yell "HEY HEY!" and every now and then throw in a bluesy phrase.

There was some guy named "Todd" that was out in the diag, and he had dropped out of theater school and was doing performance art for three days. He was talking about how people tell you to do things so that you have more options in life, among other things. Someone told me that he'd gone insane.
