Ok help me out here about the Malloy show |
|
Edited on Thu Nov-18-04 12:26 AM by nytemare
I am trying to like Malloy on AAR, but he is like a left version of Savage to me. I just can't get into it. He seems like a nice enough guy with his callers, but the rants just get on my nerves I suppose.

1. However wonderful it is to have liberal radio... |
|
it is still talk radio. All AAR hosts get on my nerves.
But don't misunderestimate me, I'm glad they are on the air and successful.

2. I won't misunderestimate you. |

I pretty much like Randi, and I think Janeane made a good transition to radio. Al can come across sometimes as being a radio comedian like in the 40's, but I pretty much like him.
I just can't get into Malloy.

his style especially- the awkward shifts from smooth talking to whining, mocking, barking and screaming, back to smooth talking etc.. is really annoying and distracts from the issues. he's often got good guests, and when he's giving you the facts he's OK, its just the self indulgent rants and tangent that bug the sht out of me and make me turn him off. he's going on vacation next week, maybe that will calm him down.

4. Savage is a lying Nazi scumbag |
|
and Malloy is an American patriot who speaks the truth. There's a gigantic difference.

A lot of us are wicked pissed and we have no one to scream and rant and cry for us- Malloy does that. He's the voice of our anger.

8. I can't listen to him for long sometimes |
|
but half an hour of listening to him reminds me that I'm not the last person on the planet who hasn't let the koolaid pass her lips. It's nice to know someone else is outraged, too.

9. You don't have to like his show to be a liberal. |
|
I really don't, and he does do the blowhard thing. The rants are basically a two-minutes hate from the other side. All these lonely little men behind their radios with this guy on.
The UAW used to pay for his show to be on the air, and it dwindled down to like four stations. One of the first times I heard it, he started saying the Bush family engineered 9/11 and then the show got cut off because of technical difficulties as he put it. I'm thinking like, the people footing the bill might have thought it was a bit too fucked up to be tossing reckless charges out on their nickel.
The only reason I think he's on AAR is that his following might have gotten fanatical with asking them to put him on. I wonder what some of those emails were like, and if they caused them to waver on whether or not the show was a good thing (loyal listener base) or a bad thing (too scary to stake their reputation on).
