Why do we fantasize about celebs that wouldn't touch us with 10ft poles? |
|
Yeah Ray Liotta is cute and all but let's be brutally honest, he wouldn't touch me if I were the last woman on earth. So what's the point of fantasizing about it?
Just asking.

My fantasy dude is George Clooney. But it's fun, isn't it?
What WOULD be strange is fantasizing about the dude picking out tomatoes at the local supermarket. Nothing exciting there.
But a celeb, why not? What else have we got to do other than bide our time and wait for a nuke to land?

11. I don't even know who that is |
|
But then, I spend my days at work running a data center, play with my daughter when I get home and watch Jimmy Neutron, then work from home some, and so forth. I don't even know what is on TV anymore honestly (or does this have anything to do with tv, is it music related??).
The only person I fantasize regulary about is myself - I always thought it would be cool to clone myself, get my clone a sex change, then marry myself. It would re-define 'playing with yourself'.

celebrities without makeup dot com, or something. Anyway, the pictures can be quite shocking. Hours with makeup artists and stylists, great lighting, and expert retouching and airbrushing (or, these days, photoshop) do wonders.

30. The bad pictures aren't representative, either |
|
The media may touch them up some, but it's not as if average looking people are getting jobs as models and movie stars while the truly gorgeous are overlooked. Those pictures could be taken mid-sneeze with bad lighting. Ebaumsworld has some, by the way.

I didn't claim that. I was pointing out the difference that those advantages make. That no one looks like the celebs do all the time, even the celebs. That there is a difference when the lighting, makeup and photography are right. That was my point.

At least, the ones I've always found attractive do. The truly great actors, musicians, writers, etc put their naked souls on display for all the world to see.
There can be no greater intimacy than to experience their art.

39. We want what we know we can't have. |
|
I thought it was a guy thing. But then I think of all the women losing it over rock stars or tv/movie stars. It's nice to fantasize, to make a dream world for ourselves. It rescues us from the bland reality that many live. If we work at it we may be able to make some of those dreams come true.
