Worlds problems... Worlds problems.... How about putting Fluoride in the Iraqi water supply because the dentists there are mostly out of business. Think that would help them?

are you saying that the dentists are out of work because everyone's teeth are in such good condition, since flouride hasn't been added to the water?
I do know flouride causes teeth to be white by 'burning' the enamel, my whole family has different degrees of burns ranging from very very white spots to beige, to brown; due to unpurified flouride in our water supply.
another world problem: Should the Spanish return all the gold they stole from Mexico? It's mostly in statue or decorative form in churches throughout Spain, I think.

That because of some disagreement or something over there, the people can't get get in to see the dentists and fluoride in the water would help prevent cavities. To much fluoride can be a problem also.
As for the gold, that's a toughly. Why am I not surprised that churches are utilizing stolen gold? How much of that gold is in various types of irreplaceable types of art? If it were in ingot form, yes, return it.

That would probably help a lot, unless the water doesn't work at all. I hear that's a big problem too, no utilities. We are really helping out there, aren't we?
I agree with the gold thing. It was interesting to go to one with a bunch of people from Mexico. They were pretty somber and mentioned to me that it was hard to accept the beauty as-is, since they knew how the gold was obtained. I don't think anyone has ever tried to get them to return it.
I got a few hrs of sleep, then had to pick up the DH, I gotta get a nap in or I will go insane. Catch you later today.
For your ponderment: Fund raisers, such as gala's and the like to raise money for cancer; why not give all the money directly to the charity, rather than spending it on decorations, food, pomp, and circumstance? Will people really donate more if you make them feel exclusive?

Look at who does fund raisers like this. It's the movers and shakers in the community. And who might they be? Mostly business owners and upper management. They use fund raisers for networking. Now, what mind set would do this? Why right wingers of course. I know because I have attended a few. It is a good way to raise money, but there are expences... And I hear it is tax deductable also.

A few people in my family attended a Gala for cancer, $200 a plate. It irritated me. My Grandmother died almost a year ago and her oldest daughter was diagnosed with breast cancer in Feb, and is considered a survivor at this point. I cannot understand why they didn't just give the money directly to a fundraiser that puts the money to immediate use without all the hoopla. out of five, three of them voted for Bush. two for Kerry. Two of the Bush voters had previously voted Democrat. (switched because 2003 was the first year they ever did not have to pay on April 15 - like that was good critical thinking!)
Hmmmm.

Checnya deserves more airtime as well. Even in Egypt (I'm 50% Egyptian Moslem) the persecution of Coptics (Christians) and some women is horrendous.
But hey, the Scott Peterson trial is SOOOOOOOOOOOOO much more important, so I understand what the MSM is doing... :eyes: :eyes: :eyes: :eyes:

most of what we have takes time to peruse and ingest. Do you think there's a way to condense the 'story' into a Reader's Digest format that people are more likely to consume? and I know that unless I printed it all off and made a huge handout, i wouldn't have anything. I need a one paragraph tale of woe! One that is comepelling and doesn't sound reactionary or CT. I don't think I am smart enought or learned enough to do it, because I sounded like an alien abductee today at the store when the clerk complained about Bush winning and I said, 'well, IF he actually won, which I don't believe.' what followed was jumbled and weird.
Maybe it's just me, but maybe that's why the MM hasn't pounced on this.
