I saw "The Incredibles" tonight - brilliant - hilarious - excellent |
|
One of those rare movies that I wished they had the DVD for sale in the lobby of the theater.
WOW!!! Good stuff. laughed through the whole thing; lots of creative visual gags; beautiful animation of hair, water, and glass - especially broken glass.
An amazing movie.
And, the best part, hilarious as hell.
Go see it.

They take some well deserved shots at the insurance industry in this country.

4. Thanks, I very rarely attend movies, |
|
although there are many convenient to me at my location. If it's worth seeing more than a few times, I try to get it on DVD instead. I just got in the mail "Saving Private Ryan & "There's something About W", so that'll fill out the evening. But the "Incredibles" is showing at the Cinerama, just a few blocks away. I'll be sure to catch it tomorrow.

It sure comes a long way from the Focus on The Family, goo-goo-goody softcore porn propaganda that usually gets pushed as a children's movie on behalf of the Disney empire. It even (in a backhanded way) points out that we shouldn't have to hide certain lifestyle choices.

7. Yes - there are some very good subtle rejoinders to be who you are |
|
supposed to be. I thought immediately of gays and lesbians, and how wonderful it is that a movie is telling kids "You don't have to buy into the rightwing agenda of hate, xenophobia, and fear of difference". Well, that's kinda my own personal eisegesis, I admit, but I think that was the point.

6. hrmm, I've been contemplating seeing that |
|
I saw an early poster for that when I went to go see "The Day After Tomorrow" and noticing that the outfit was porous and you can even see the odd hair sticking out between the stitches of his suit. That had to translate into some serious horsepower if they could do that 24 times a second on a much bigger scale :D

8. I just got back from seeing it |
|
The last half of that movie is just unreal. It's a WAY better superhero movie than any of the live-action ones. Just a total delight and I laughed my ass off. And it was even exciting. A lot better than I expected.
